The system was installed along with the construction of the residence and hence a portion of the roof which needed to be under cover from direct sun and shade was elevated. The panels were installed on the corrugated sheet, which also took out the shadow issues from the trees on the south side of the building. The off-grid system is capable of handling almost all the loads except the heavy heating & induction loads of the house. A special switching system was also put to ensure that the batteries were not charged from the grid unnecessarily and solar generation was used to the maximum.
